The news has gone down well with customers

In 2021, McDonald's launched its first plant-based burger option. The McPlant comes with a Beyond Meat patty layered with vegan cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, mustard and ketchup all put together in the classic sesame bun.

The new burger is vegan-certified and cooked separately from other McDonald’s burgers and sandwiches, using dedicated utensils. The original McPlant, which took the chain over three years to develop, has been a hit with customers since its launch in September 2021.
