AFL: The Herald Sun's Jay Clark explains the details of Ben McKay's frontloaded Essendon deal in this episode of the Midweek Tackle.
It’s the biggest game between traditional rivals Essendon and Carlton since the 2011 finals as the two Victorian powerhouses square off on King’s Birthday Eve.
The Blues used a brilliant last quarter to overrun Port Adelaide on the road last week, and are now eyeing a top-four spot. Four early minor scores opened the account inside the first three minutes, with set shots from Archie Perkins and Jye Menzie hitting the post for Essendon, while Sam Walsh and a rushed behind were registered for Carlton.
Not long after, the highly-anticipated match-up between Ben and Harry McKay brought about its first highlight for the night, with the Bomber Ben pinged for holding onto his brother amid an incoming high ball.
