Team selection was a whirlwind process after a pair of exhibition games against the U Sports Selects from the Atlantic University Sport conference. “It’s really funny how we go back pretty far, playing against each in minor hockey,” said Korchinski. “Just him being a Blackhawk, too, and him getting traded to Seattle, it’s just been awesome to know him a bit better.
“Obviously, as a team and individuals, we will accept our roles,” said Korchinski. “Our main focus is winning a championship and bringing back the gold.”“Obviously you’ve got a lot skill throughout the lineup. We’ve got a mix of skill and also some grit, smarts — all of it — and we’ve got a lot of depth on our team that will help us in the long run.”
