Women broadcasters are taking over FIFA’s World Cup hosted this year in Qatar. Fox Sports’ Aly Wagner, Jenny Taft, Eniola Aluko and Kate Abdo will broadcasting the games in front of billions. Meet the women paving the way for the next generation of female sports reporters.

“Soccer is my passion,” Wagner smiles. “It’s my art form. It can talk to my soul the way other things can’t. So it became natural for me to try to share that love of the game with the audience. I’ve said this before, but I just felt like it wasn’t done at a high enough level. I didn’t think that the broadcasts ever spoke to me. I wanted to make sure that there were people on the broadcasts who saw the game the way that I do or at least potentially could and feel it that way.

Over the years, the network promoted Taft to join FS1’s news and highlights update team. Additionally, she served as a reporter for the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She continued transitioning to lead college football sideline reporter to cover the NFL and MLB.
