Laura will join the Saturday TODAY anchor desk alongside Peter Alexander for the first time this weekend.
Laura credits TODAY co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, who attended Georgetown Law School and was previously a lawyer, with encouraging her to make the career shift.
Traditionally, Laura said her Saturday mornings consisted of watching TODAY while making pancakes for her kids, which now allows her relate to viewers on the other side of the television screens. Laura's new co-host, Peter, is also confident about the change, predicting that the TODAY audience “is going to love” her.
