Gifted beautician , and is still going strong to this day - aged 100. The elegant centenarian is blessed with "fat cushions" - referring to her beautiful slender hands - which have given thousands of massages during her illustrious career.
Army officer's wife Thelma was trained by Elizabeth Arden in London, and her training was checked every year. She learned a wide-range of beauty treatments, quipping: "I did everything that grows hair". "I still have a client from Lincoln," she says with passion. "I have known her since she was a teenager and now she is a granny."It is like a confession. People confide during the treatments.
Thelma had several parties to mark the occasion, and a big gathering at Bestwood Lodge. Her secret, she says is "loving people and doing what I'm doing and I'm old enough to give people advice which they ask for".
