Smith: Meet Quincy Olivari, the 'Energizer Bunny' of Rice basketball

“It’s great to finally be on the flipside of it and see the potential of even more greatness,” Olivari said. Olivari has evolved and evolved, becoming an on- and off-the-court leader while Rice heads toward its best season since Pera took over in 2017. Olivari has finally become the name for Rice this season. He scored 30 points while playing 41 minutes during a recent 88-81 road win over UTSA in overtime. When the Owls nearly knocked off then-No. 7 Texas in OT on Dec. 12, Olivari scored 28 points, grabbed five boards, dished out four assists and hit four 3s in 40 minutes.
