'Just because you didn’t do so well at school doesn’t mean you can’t have the same future that everyone else is afforded'

WorkingRite helps young people, aged 16 to 24, who have"fallen through the cracks" and not engaged with school find placements which can help them end up in employment.

"A lot of our young people have had the rug pulled out from under them many times before, and people in other organisations and interventions give up on them. "So, what we do then, is we revert right back to how the charity started, we find good mentors who run small businesses and we ask them to support these young people and if things go well, can you give them a job."He added:"The only reason this model works is it’s all based on relationships, but the key ingredient is that we have amazing staff.

The placement is funded for the young person, who receives an allowance, and allows them to experience working life whilst being supported and mentored by an older colleague.
