Meghan Markle's newly released podcast has claimed the number one position on Spotify’s charts in six markets worldwide. The Duchess of Sussex on Tuesday released the first episode of her podcast Archetypes as part of her $30 million podcast deal with the streaming giant.
Archetypes has now topped the charts in the United States, Canada, Ireland, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. The 41-year-old labelled the podcast as a place to “investigate, dissect, and subvert the labels that try to hold woman back” during a series of interviews. “Meghan will speak with historians and experts to uncover the origin of these stereotype and have uncensored conversations with women who know all to well how these typecasts shape our narratives,” the podcast description read.
In the first episode, titled The Misconception of Ambition with Serena Williams, Meghan spoke to the 23-time grand slam champion about the double standards women face when labelled"ambitious". "I don't remember ever personally feeling the negative connotation behind the word 'ambitious' until I started dating my now husband," Meghan said.
