She took a more casual route:

Author:Julia MarzovillaUpdated:Sep 24, 2019Original:Sep 24, 2019Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex began their second day in Africa with a trip to Monwabisi Beach to visit with those helped by Waves for Change, a charity in Cape Town which aids vulnerable children in under-resourced communities with mental health services. The charity was one of those chosen to receive funding following their son Archie's birth thanks to public donations in his honor.

Her outfit was casual compared to her other looks from the trip, which included a Veronica Beard shirtdress and a leopard-print dress by Mayamiko, a brand based in Malawi. She donned a slightly oversized denim jacket by Madewell, dark jeans and a simple white button-down by J.Crew as she sat on the beach. Markle regularly chooses to wear accessible pieces, and her more toned-down beach look proves that her love for affordable, easy clothing runs deep.

Markle also likes to pay homage to the places she visits with her wardrobe, as she's already begun doing on this trip. She accessorized this particular look with a pair of woven flats by Brother Vellies. Each pair of shoes by the brand is made by hand in Africa, providing stable jobs within South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya and Morocco. 119Gallery119 ImagesStay current on the latest trends, news and people shaping the fashion industry.
