Melbourne’s Lord Mayor Sally Capp has voiced her opposition to a safe injecting space on Flinders Street, in a move Sky News host Peta Credlin has hailed as a “welcome backflip”.
“You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know that putting a heroin injecting room – with all the addicts, pimps and
dealers that involves – in the same location where you want families, and tourists, to come into the city and spend time is madness.”
