Daniel Andrews has boasted 'Melbourne's back' and described the city as 'the real capital' of Australia amid the latest rankings on the world's most liveable cities where it placed ahead of Sydney.
The Victorian capital came in third place on the EIU's global liveability index this year, just beating out Sydney which was ranked fourth.
Mr Andrews said the result showed"Melbourne's back" after it rebounded from 10th position last year and boasted the city was"the real capital" of Australia. However, Melbourne won out on culture and environment with a score in that category of 95.8 verses Sydney which was given a mark of 94.4. "Melbourne's back, Victoria's back. When you think about major events, food, wine, medical research," he said on Thursday.
