Melbourne is set to lose another restaurant with a contemporary European dining establishment announcing its final day of service just weeks ago.

Epocha restaurant in Carlton on Wednesday cited the"broader economic challenges" as one of the factors behind its decision to close down after more than a decade.

The business has served Melbourne for the past 12 years, offering up a"unique mixture of Greek, Spanish, French, Italian and English influences". "We've celebrated lives, birthdays and cried with you at the loss of loved ones. Knowing that you considered us for your special occasions has meant the world to us."

"We will close out our final service with an outstanding and unforgettable dinner to mark such a momentous occasion."
