“Max has seen a knee specialist and is working with our medical and high-performance team to determine the best return to play rehabilitation program,” general manager of football performance Alan Richardson said.
Gawn was the victim of a friendly fire clash with Jack Viney, who fell across Gawn’s knee after a centre bounce stoppage. Viney landed awkwardly across Gawn’s left knee and the skipper immediately grabbed at it before hobbling off the field. It didn’t take long before Melbourne medical staff had him on ice and subbed him out of the game, with Jake Melksham taking his place.More to come
