Each of us can make a contribution to winning the peace, to support our service members who are actively defending our freedom as a nation
. Be an advocate for world peace. Take an active role in the policy making of the country. Don’t be silent when it comes to the critical issue of war and peace. Lives depend on it. Our leaders must be encouraged to be peacemakers, to go the extra mile to build peace treaties with other nations, to end conflict abroad. A group called Action Corps has been encouraging Congress and President Biden to try to end the civil war in Yemen.
As former Army Chief and Secretary of State George Marshall said, “Hunger and insecurity are the worst enemies of peace.” Each of us can write a letter to our elected officials with ideas for peace. Make peace your priority so they will too. Ike added, “If you do think on these things and devise for yourself your ideas of what should be done, if you will communicate those ideas to others, hammer out a common solution on the anvil of debate and argument and discussion, you will be doing your full part in bringing about this age-old dream of mankind: peace on earth, goodwill toward men.”
