Car parts worth £4,000 were found in the back of a vehicle nearby.
Jack Burgess, 33, and Danny Milward, 35, have been charged with burglary with intent to steal, following the incident at Beadles Land Rover dealership yesterday .READ MOREAt around 10am, police were called about an ongoing catalytic converter theft at the dealership in Lower High Street.
After officers arrived, they scoured the area using CCTV before a suspect vehicle was located in St Albans Road.Plain-clothed officers in unmarked police vehicles brought the vehicle to"a tactical stop". Two people were arrested at the scene, as officers located £4,000 worth of car parts in the rear of the vehicle.
Burgess, of Middle Park Avenue, London, and Milward, of Rochester Way, London, have been placed on police bail ahead of appearing at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 27.
