The mother of William Holdback, who was fatally stabbed on a suburban Adelaide street almost a year ago, has expressed her devastation as the two men charged with his murder enter not guilty pleas in court.

The mother of a 21-year-old who was fatally stabbed in Adelaide’s inner north-west says she is “living a parent’s worst nightmare” as the men charged over his death are ordered to stand trial. Father-and-son, Brian Slann, 52, and Liam Slann, 27, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday and pleaded not guilty to the murder of William Holdback in April last year.

In a written statement provided to the media, Mr Holdback’s mother Kylee Butterick, said she was devastated over the loss of her son.“It just elongates everything; the courts are so full.”ABC News: Eva BlandisMs Butterick also said she was “living a parent’s worst nightmare” and that almost a year had passed since losing her son, who she described as “such a good boy”.
