A RED weather warning for parts of eastern Scotland has been extended into Saturday night as Storm Babet batters the country.
The Met Office issued an update on Friday morning as heavy wind and rain cause disruption, particularly in the Angus and Aberdeenshire areas.
On Saturday a red warning for exceptionally heavy and persistent rain is now in place from midnight to 11.59pm, affecting Angus towns and villages like Forfar, Kirriemuir, Brechin and into the Aberdeenshire areas of Inverbervie and Laurencekirk.A red warning means there is a danger to life from flooding, with extensive flooding expected for homes and businesses. Those in red warning areas are being urged not to travel.
