Forecasters predict the stormy weather could lead to some flooding and travel disruption
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and strong winds for a large part of the north west.
Forecasters predict that a 'brief spell of heavy rain and strong, gusty winds' could cause 'some transport disruption and flooding'. Flooding and spray on roads is likely, with journey times expected to be longer. Showers are expected to fall until around 4pm in Greater Manchester, before clouds set in again. Temperatures will reach highs of around 10C.
