The Met Office has warned that the UK will see a 'danger to life' storm within days, as weather map shows heavy and relentless rain set to batter the country amid an arctic blast
A massive storm, stretching nearly 600 miles, is set to drench parts of the UK as we wave goodbye to September and welcome in October. Weather maps from WXCharts, supported by Metdesk data, reveal that a large portion of the country will be hit with heavy rain. The storm, covering a 575-mile area from Newcastle to Lands End, is expected to arrive just as we step into Tuesday, 1 October from 6pm. The Met Office's long-term forecast for the end of September also hints at heavy rainfall.
"Elsewhere, generally settled conditions prevailing, albeit with low cloud and drizzle along North Sea coasts in particular; away from here, most places will experience above average temperatures during this period.
