The Met Police breached the rights of the organisers of a vigil for Sarah Everard’s during lockdown, the high court has ruled. ameliaajenne reports.
Women’s rights campaigners have won a High Court victory over the Metropolitan Police, which threatened them with huge fines if they organised a demonstration during lockdown in memory of murdered Sarah Everard.
A spontaneous vigil went ahead anyway last March and the police were criticised for the way they handcuffed women and made arrests.
