Breaking: Billionaire and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has joined the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.
The field of Democrats vying to be the party’s nominee in 2020 remains crowded. Here are the 17 candidates competing to face President Trump.
Bloomberg was a Democrat until 2001, when he registered as a Republican to run for mayor of New York City. He won the election and served three terms. Bloomberg abandoned the GOP in 2007 and became an independent. In October 2018, he registered again as a Democrat.
