The second and final day of joint practices between the Cowboys and Chargers ended on a high note for the visitors. As two rookies prepared for the bus ride back to the hotel, they glanced toward the east field.That high note scaled higher whenwhile running routes for the first time since tearing his left ACL and MCL on Jan. 2. The Cowboys wide receiver learned Wednesday that he would graduate to this step in his rehabilitation and said that his excitement made sleeping difficult that evening.

If Gallup begins the regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, he won’t count against the Cowboys’ 53-man roster but will be required to miss at least the first four games. he won’t be ready when the Cowboys open their season Sept. 11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He hasn’t been chasing the date.“Ain’t no point in thinking about it too hard,” Gallup said Thursday. “When I get back, I’m going to come out here and help the team regardless. That’s just all I’m waiting on. That’s it.”
