Franklin J. Grayson of Jacksonville, Florida, was arrested following the shooting Friday after a baseball game between Olivet College and Muskingum University.
NEW CONCORD, Ohio — A baseball player for a college in Michigan was shot multiple times in the dugout following a game at Muskingum University in central Ohio, authorities say.
The victim is a player for Olivet College, which is located in Olivet, Mich. Grayson is a 2021 graduate of Olivet, according to a news release from Olivet. Authorities say there is no known relationship between the victim and suspect, and that they were not aware of any threats. The player was taken to a hospital, but he has been released into the custody of his parents, authorities say. The prosecutor’s office says Grayson was “quickly apprehended,” but does not say where he was arrested. If convicted, he could face up to 14 years in prison.
