“We believe Copilot will fundamentally transform computing,” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said on Thursday.
Microsoft is adding advanced artificial intelligence-powered features across its software and Windows operating system.
On Thursday, the software giant announced a more integrated ‘Copilot’ AI companion that will work throughout its products and services, including Bing, the Edge browser, its office productivity software, and Windows. “We believe Copilot will fundamentally transform computing,” CEO Satya Nadella said during a product event in New York. It will “empower every person and every organization to achieve more.”
The improved Copilot promises to bring in contextual data from consumers’ devices and from their prior Bing Chat history. One product demonstration showed a user asking Copilot for flight information. The AI was able to search through the user’s text messages to find the answer. Another demonstration showed Microsoft productivity applications generating relevant graphics and charts based on text prompts and other files.Microsoft also announced two new Surface laptops at the event. The first is the Laptop Go 3 that has a 12.4 inch screen and weighs 2.5 pounds. The other is the more powerful Laptop Studio 2.
