Middletown police release update on report of missing 11-year-old

In the initial report, police said around 11:20 p.m. on March 20 a man who was driving to work noticed a child running east on West Main Street between North Catherine and Union streets. The individual, referred to in the report as a good Samaritan, stopped his vehicle and asked the child if he was OK. The child answered by saying “someone is chasing me.”
The missing child is reported to be a white male with dark hair who was wearing dark pajamas that night, according to police.They interviewed the lone witness to the incident, and that individual is not believed to have been involved in the child’s behavior in any capacity and simply was acting as a good Samaritan.
No further calls have been received in connection to the case, immediately following the incident, or in the days that followed.
