Rutgers wrestling: No. 19 Scarlet Knights face No. 21 Penn, Drexel in the Garden State GrappleIt’s the return of the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships, and Rutgers hopes to leave its mark at one of the toughest midseason tournaments. The Scarlet Knights, with 16 wrestlers entered, are competing at the Midlands for the first time since the 2017-2018 campaign.
Rutgers, which enters the two-day tournament outside of Chicago, Illinois ranked No. 18, has a seeded wrestler at eight weights. Freshman Brian Soldano drew the No. 1 seed at 184 pounds while sophomore Sammy Alvarez and senior Joe Heilmann are seeded second at 133 and 141, respectively.
