The United States has looked to other countries for help, including Costa Rica, where many migrants travel through. An agreement between the two outlines commitments to strengthen enforcement, exchange information on migrant flows and stabilise host communities. However, President Biden continues to face political pressure from Republicans who claim he isn’t doing enough to address the issue.
