Veteran songwriter, producer and engineer Mike Dean makes hischart debut as an artist, entering the Emerging Artists tally at No. 21, thanks to his instrumental solo album,His debut, 28-track set arrives at No. 17 on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart with 2,000 equivalent album units earned, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
Dean has additionally produced four Hot 100 top 10s, including one leader, Scott's"Room." Dean's other top 10s: Jay-Z and Kanye West's"Ni**as in Paris" ; Rihanna, West and Paul McCartney's"FourFiveSeconds" ; and West's"Yikes" . Dean sports four credits on the latest Hot 100 alone:"The Scotts" ;"Room" ; Don Toliver's"After Party" ; and DaBaby's"Nasty," featuring Ashanti and Megan Thee Stallion .
His other career production credits on the Hot 100 include tracks by Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Geto Boys, Scarface and The Weeknd. The Emerging Artists chart ranks the most popular developing artists of the week, using the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50.
