Mike Pezzullo's Order of Australia honour was stripped late last month after he was found to have breached the Australian public service code of conduct as home affairs department secretary.

The former secretary of the home affairs department, Mike Pezzullo , has been officially stripped of his Order of Australia honour after he was found to have breached the Australian public service code of conduct.

The former home affairs secretary had a decorated career in the public service before a series of leaked messages cost him his job. He now admits he has no one to blame but himself. He began his career with the public service in 1987 as a graduate in the defence department, rising through the ranks to eventually become the deputy secretary of the department.

"There is simply no point in rushing to peace if all that just simply happens is the next cadre comes through, who are as well trained and have thought about how they want to continue the campaign," he said.Along with the celebrations in Israel, there will be Gazans experiencing some relief and hope after his killing.
