The centre half is the latest new face to join Brown's Somerset revolution - and he is one well known to the manager.
He's played with Scott Brown and for him. And Mikey Devlin admits there was only place he was heading when a familiar name popped up on his phone this summer.
Devlin, 30, who was a teammate of Brown's at Aberdeen before being signed by him at Fleetwood Town, insists it was an easy sell to jump aboard the Somerset revolution after agreeing a one-year deal which has an option to extend. "As soon as his name popped up on my phone, I was halfway here. There was nothing to think about, really. When I knew he wanted me here, I was really excited, and the decision to come and be part of this was very easy."
He said: "All of the attributes that he had as a player, he is carrying into management. I saw at close quarters at Aberdeen how he trained, how he behaved and how be applied himself and I've tried to take all of that in. Working under him you could see the demands and the work ethic that he had on a day-to-day basis. Everything he was as a player, he demands from his players as well. It's a basic necessity and that's how I try to apply myself as well.
