Rangers fans can have huge factor in Scottish Premiership title race, says former striker Kenny Miller.
Philippe Clement's squad have hit top form since the turn of the year, losing just once in 11 league matches. And that record has helped propel Rangers to within two points of leadersMiller, who played almost 300 times across two spells at Ibrox, has noticed a shift in fan mentality over the past few months and believes that air of confidence on the pitch coupled with less anxiety from the stands could go a long way to reclaiming the league crown back come May.
And the former striker thinks the way Celtic could have to approach the highly-anticipated Old Old Firm showdown on April 7 may swing it., he claimed: "I fancy Rangers to win the title. I was at the Rangers v Aberdeen game a few weeks ago and there was a real feel-good factor in the stadium that night."The game was 1-1 with 25 minutes to go.
"However, that night there was a real belief in the supporters and an air of confidence that the team would get the job done — which they did. “I think that air of confidence feeds into the players and they’ve pretty much won every game under Philippe Clement. They’ve got the game in hand, which they will feel confident of winning, and there are only nine games to go.
“It definitely makes you the favourites, but the Old Firm derby will be absolutely crucial. Celtic will have to attack Rangers as a draw should be enough to keep it in their own hands depending on how fixtures go between now and then.”Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.
