Millions of workers across France have stopped work to hold mass demonstrations and threatening to paralyse the country.
The Eiffel Tower shut down, high-speed trains stood still and tens of thousands of people marched through the capital, Paris.
Demonstraters expressed anger at the government's plan to overhaul the country's retirement system. Opponents fear the proposed changes will threaten the French 'way of life' but Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron is determined to on with the reform. Image: AP
