Here's a preview of one of the most eclectic collection of Ferrari cars that's headed to the RM Sotheby's auction during Monterey Car Week.
was first displayed at the 1965 Turin Motor Show and is the first"long nose" Ferrari chassis made with alloy body panels and six carburetors under the hood. This specific chassis also did a bit of racing at the 1966 Targa Florio but DNF'd after two laps due to an unknown mechanical issue.but it goes even further. This car is one of three"factory-specified" chassis that entered the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1978 and for the most part hasn't been changed since.
This specific example is one of approximately 153 chassis built with all-aluminum body work between 1967 and 1969. It has a lot going for it, but it is definitely going to need an extensive restoration to get it to show-winning condition.This 1960 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe Series II is another high potential restoration special. It has a Columbo V-12 engine, overdrive transmission, and four wheel disc brakes.
