A powerful businessman with interests in mining, real estate and infrastructure, Gautum Adani is also India's biggest airport operator.
His company owns Abbot Point and the Carmichael mine, a coal mining project in North Queensland that attracted huge community controversy from conservation groups.Chairman and founder of retail juggernaut Amazon, Jeff Bezos was the world's richest person prior to the rise of Elon Musk. He overtook Bill Gates as number one after Amazon diversified into selling all products — not just books.
Bezos' extra-terrestrial ambitions are well documented: he has already flown to space aboard a rocket developed by his spaceflight company, Blue Origin.Born in South Africa but a citizen of the United States, Elon Musk is likely the wealthiest person ever to have existed in human history . He first cofounded a software company called Zip2, which he sold for $307 million in 1999. From those beginnings he grew an empire that now includes electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, space exploration company SpaceX, tunnel company The Boring Company, brain-computer interface company Neuralink and many more.
He has repeatedly said he cares little for wealth and prefers to pour all of his resources into his businesses.
