Ministers hold urgent talks with unions to head off Sydney train disruptions | mattonews
A post-budget meeting between the Rail Tram and Bus Union and government ministers, scheduled for Friday morning, was cancelled.
It was not yet clear what industrial action would be taken, but it was likely to result in serious disruptions to train services. Commuters face disruptions to train services next week after the rail union threatened to escalate industrial action.However, Transport Minister David Elliott and Employee Relations Minister Damien Tudehope have now agreed to speak with senior union officials at a hastily arranged meeting at 5pm on Friday in central Sydney.
