Education ministers are looking to detract from a “teacher exodus” taking place across Australia as they meet for the first time since May, Sky News Reporter Holly Edwards-Smith says.

The ministers will propose several reforms such as bonuses, increased wages and incentives to encourage students to study teaching at university.

“This is not a new issue – between 2017 and 2020, the amount of people enrolling to study teaching at university dropped eight per cent,” Ms Edwards-Smith said.
