The New South Wales government is taking its first steps towards budget repair and forecasting a $4 billion improvement in the budget bottom line over the next four years. The New South Wales Treasurer Daniel Mookhey says the state still has a long way to go to improve the budget position. There were no new measures to cost of living but there are extensions of promises the Minns government has made around toll relief and energy relief. The budget announced a new housing fund, which is worth $2.2 billion and includes 1.5 billion for infrastructure and a $300 million injection into accelerating the construction of new homes.
