Rounding up the action at the Padres’ minor league affiliates
The 23-year-old left-hander struck out the side on 14 pitches inat Sugar Land in 10 innings on Thursday, Morejón’s first game action since hitting the injured list with shoulder inflammation after his third relief appearance with the Padres.
Morejón had allowed three runs — two earned — in his first 4 2/3 innings in the majors as he returned from Tommy John surgery. Thursday’s appearance with the Chihuahuas followed a quality start from left-hander Ryan Weathers , who struck out five and allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk in seven innings.
Right-hander Reiss Knehr struck out two and escaped a scoreless ninth despite walking two and allowing a hit, but right-hander Evan Miller allowed a walk-off, three-run homer to Jose Siri in the 10Right fielder Esteury Ruiz went 0-for-3 with a walk, two strikeouts and a run scored.
