Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr has opened up about a health condition she has battled for years, revealing her diagnosis of proctitis— a form of irritable bowel syndrome . The 41-year-old said her symptoms began during one of her pregnancies and doctors were still stumped about how to tackle the autoimmune disease.

Proctitis is inflammation of the rectum lining, and Kerr uses a wellness routine to combat symptoms. “It’s an auto-immune thing and they don’t necessarily have the answers to why, which is frustrating,” she told beauty and wellness website Get the Gloss this week. Kerr, a former Victoria’s Secret angel now known for her organic skincare line Kora Organics, shared her daily wellness routine, which includes drinking a litre of celery juice on an empty stomach.
