Rochester, N.Y. — A 16-year-old girl who had been missing since late August was found dead over the weekend, and her death has been ruled a homicide.
Jakarah Lopez-Moore, 16, was last seen Friday, Aug. 25, 2023, leaving her home on Weld Street in Rochester. Her body was found Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, in the woods off Vanguard Parkway.
Rochester, N.Y. — A 16-year-old girl who had been missing since late August was found dead over the weekend, and her death has been ruled a homicide.The Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office identified the body as Jakarah Lopez-Moore, who had been reported missing by her family Aug. 29 after leaving her home on Weld Street. Family members said they last saw her Aug. 25.
The circumstance surrounding Lopez-Moore's disappearance remain under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 911, the Rochester Police Department Major Crimes Unit at 428-7157 or Crime Stoppers at 423-9300. Tips can also be emailed to [email protected].
