The City of San Antonio's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Commission has opened its ninth annual Student Art Contest.

SAN ANTONIO - The City of San Antonio's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Commission's Student Art Contest is now opened for entries. The 2024 art contest is inspired by the theme "Yesterday's Dream, Today's Vision, Tomorrow's Reality." "One of my favorite events of the year is our annual MLK Art Competition. Last year, we received a record number of submissions and we're sure this year even more students will be inspired by the theme, 'Yesterday's Dream, Today's Vision, Tomorrow's Reality.' I cannot wait to see what they came up with!" said Councilmember Jalen McKee-Rodriguez.

The selected artwork will be used on marketing platforms to promote the 2024 March that takes place on Jan. 15, 2025. The contest is open to Bexar County kids ages 18 and under. The contest accepts traditional two-dimensional artistic media, including paintings, photography, computer graphics, and artwork created with colored pencils, markers, and crayons.
