Modern Family stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Nolan Gould reunite in a sweet photo. Created by Christopher Lloyd and Steve Levitan, Modern Family featured a large and talented ensemble cast and used a mockumentary format to chronicle their foibles. On the sitcom, which ran for 11 seasons on ABC between 2009 and 2020, Ferguson played the character of Mitchell Pritchett, with Gould as his nephew Luke Dunphy.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Now, a photo from Ferguson's instagram displays that the pair have reunited, two years after the conclusion of the sitcom they starred on together for over a decade. Since Modern Family, Ferguson has returned to his theatrical roots and is currently starring in the Broadway play Take Me Out.
Since the conclusion of Modern Family, several of the show's stars have branched out in their careers to do something very different from the long-running sitcom, like Ferguson returning to the theater. Many other cast members, including Burrell, Bowen, and Ariel Winter, have acted in several movies as well as doing voice-over acting since Modern Family wrapped.
Though it's only been two years since Modern Family ended, it's clear that much of the cast has kept as busy as possible, with bright futures ahead of the sitcom stars. In terms of the series' creators, Levitan recently created a new Hulu sitcom titled Reboot. The ironically meta premise sees the dysfunctional cast of an early-oughts sitcom forced to reunite as their sitcom is rebooted for modern audiences.
