It was a dream debut for Muhammad Mokaev
Mohammad Mokaev couldn’t have wished for a better UFC debut as he opened the first UFC London in three years with a quick submission victory.
The 21 year old moved to 7-0 after utterly dominating Cody Durden before forcing him to tap to the guillotine choke.Mokaev came to the UK as an eight year old refugee from Russia – Dagestan to be specific – and has been hailed as the new Khabib Nurmagomedov. Just like the lightweight great, Mokaev dominated from start to finish in this contest. As soon as he laid hands on Durden, much like Chimaev has been doing during his UFC career, Mokaev had complete control of the American and did exactly what he wanted.A tremendous jumping knee set up the opening for Mokaev to grab Durden and despite being slammed on the mat, Mokaev would keep a hold of his headlock and turn it into the guillotine choke that would win the bout.
The flyweight shared a tweet the day prior to UFC London that showed he had inboxed Dana White four years earlier begging for a follow, but now he is one of the UFC boss’ newest stars.
