Mollie Fitzgerald, the 22-year-old jockey, who has made significant progress in her career, recently joined Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald's stable and aims to continue her momentum at provincial meetings before eventually moving into the metropolitan ranks.

That association is only a few weeks old and it’s hit the ground running with a couple of winners in the past week, including Verbil at Wyong on Saturday. She’s out to continue the momentum at Newcastle on Wednesday but says it’s very much one step at a time. “I was looking at the next step and I thought it was a very good opportunity . It’s a lovely stable environment and really cool and exciting to be a part of.
Fitzgerald only had her first race ride in August last year, apprenticed to Tony Ball at Taree, and fell one short of 50 winners in her first season in the saddle, so it was an impressive start to her apprenticeship.
