Undercover detectives have arrested an accused paedophile who believed he was meeting up with a 13-year-old girl in Brisbane to take her to a motel for sex. 7NEWS
He allegedly started to groom the “child” and sent explicit photographs and videos of himself.
Undercover police swooped on the 42-year-old when he arrived at a fast food outlet in Brisbane to meet with the “child” he had allegedly been grooming.Argos Detective Inspector Glen Donaldson said the case highlighted the risk online predators posed to children. “This is extremely concerning and highlights the need for parents to be aware of their child’s online footprint and to speak with their child about online safety.”
“Every day Argos has undercover officers working in a range of online platforms to detect and apprehend people who seek to exploit children in our community,” he said.
