The Queen has arrived in Edinburgh and waved to onlookers after she stepped off her train, without aid.
Video of the moment she arrived has been excitedly shared, as she appears to be in good health following previous cocnerns.But the video shows how she got off the train without any help, though an attendant stood next to her in case she did need assistance.After stepping onto the platform, she waved to onlookers before walking to a waiting car with other members of her party.
These include the historic Ceremony of the Keys – the traditional opener to Holyrood week for the royals – when the Queen is symbolically offered the keys to the city by Edinburgh Lord Provost Robert Aldridge. The tradition dictates that the monarch returns them, entrusting their safekeeping to the city’s elected officials.upon her arrival in the Scottish capital.
Her appearances mark the first public duty she has carried out since appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the finale of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations at the start of June.
