MONKEYPOX ON CAMPUS: On Monday, officials in both cases said they're working to identify anyone who may have been exposed.
IDEA Public Schools and Fort Bend ISD confirmed separate monkeypox cases at IDEA Hardy and Ridge Point High School, respectively.Two separate campuses - one in north Houston and the other in Fort Bend ISD - confirmed cases of the virus on Monday.IDEA Public Schools, Hardy campus, a national charter school network with locations in four states, disclosed on Monday afternoon that a monkeypox case was recently reported at the IDEA Hardy campus, located at 1930 Little York Road in north Houston.
IDEA Public Schools did not offer details about whether the case involved a student, a teacher, or a support staff member citing privacy protocols. The school system added that it is keeping families informed of the virus, but didn't say whether any part or all of the campus would need to be closed.
