Brisbane residents will endure fewer noisy, low-flying planes under flight path changes negotiated by the federal government.

More Brisbane flights will be required to arrive and depart over Moreton Bay, and spend less time at low altitude, after a government-appointed forum acknowledged community concerns about the noise.

“Based on the submissions and briefings provided, the forum notes consistent and significant concerns from the community on the adequacy and accuracy of engagement on changes to airspace and noise impacts associated with the new parallel runway, despite a significant public engagement campaign run by Brisbane Airport Corporation,” the report states.
