A mother who tortured her three children over seven months has been given a five and a half year jail term. Warning: Distressing
The mother, who cannot be named for legal reasons, spent the night in custody after her harrowing actions against the children were laid out in Brisbane District Court on Monday.
Balanced against her rehabilitation and remorse, the mother will be eligible for parole after 18 months.yesterday told the mum and her partner inflicted daily violence on the three children from July 2017 to February 2018At times, they were confined to their rooms for hours and went without food, sometimes for up to a week.
On Tuesday, the mother wiped away tears as Judge Dann took into account the mother’s personal circumstances. “To some extent, your mother’s critical approach to your parenting might have been a factor in the commission of these offences,” Judge Dann told the woman.
